Short-term changes in plasma concentration of cortisol, growth hormone and insulin during the annual cycle of a male white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus)

1.1. The insulin (I) levels are very stable without significant trend during the sampling session of the season.2.2. I levels are not correlated to growth hormone (GH) or to cortisol (C).3.3. C levels significantly decreased during the sampling session, while the GH levels were increasing.4.4. Seasonal periodicity was demonstrated for both C and GH.5.5. Compared to other mammals, GH, C and I levels in white-tailed deer are exceptionally stable.
