The University of Waterloo's Centre for Contact Lens Research

Abstract

Established in 1988, the Centre for Contact Lens Research (CCLR) at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry (in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada) conducts clinical and laboratory studies investigating how the tear film and ocular surface interact with contact lens materials and solutions. Collaborations with departments at the University and with other academic groups worldwide have afforded the CCLR opportunities to image and analyze these interactions in exciting new ways. Current CCLR director Lyndon Jones occupied the post in January of 2011, succeeding founding director Desmond Fonn, MOptom, FAAO, who continues to consult with the CCLR.
