Explanation of the influence on the oscillation spectrum of diode lasers for a change of facet reflectivity

Abstract

A simple, theoretical analysis of the effects on the steady-state oscillation spectrum of diode lasers for a change of the facet reflectivity of the lasers is given. It is shown that the effects can be understood by considering the amount of spontaneous emission which is produced as the facet reflectivity is altered.
