Overview

Dr. Ipsita Goswami is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and a neonatologist in the Division of Neonatology.

 

She is the faculty lead in neonatal neurocritical care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at McMaster Children's Hospital, in addition to maintaining an active implementation research program with a focus on early neonatal neuroprotection and stakeholder engagement across 33 Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Canada. 

 

Her active research program focuses on improving neurodevelopmental outcomes of neonates with perinatal brain injury by gaining deeper insights into physiological biomarkers. At the national level, she also serves as the co-chair of the EPIQ Brain Health Group. She served as the Associate Program Director for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (NPM) Fellowship Program from September 2023 to September 2025 and regularly contributes to undergraduate medical education as a Clinical Tutor in MF4.
