I’m a teaching-stream faculty member (genetics focus) and a computational geneticist by training. I employ evidence-based and student-centered approaches in my courses, incorporating clear explanations and expectations, problem-solving, and real-world cases from medicine and evolution. I draw on my genome-wide association study (GWAS) background to connect classical genetics to modern genomics. My goal is to spark curiosity and build confidence, while strengthening foundational genetics knowledge and core skills in problem solving. Ultimately, I aim to prepare students for success in upper-year courses and to open doors to research, professional programs, and other opportunities after undergrad.
