abstract

  • AbstractIntraoperative studies of focal neuropathies have become increasingly common both as an aid to the localization of the neuropathy and a means of monitoring the integrity of the nerve in the course of surgery. Success very often depends on careful attention to the technical problems presented by working in the operating theater. Despite these difficulties, assessment of conduction directly from the exposed nerve offers opportunities for better understanding the pathophysiology of these neuropathies and correlating these findings with conventional electrodiagnostic studies. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
