Mark Duffett
Assistant Professor (Part-Time), Pediatrics

Mark Duffett is a pharmacist and research methodologist in the division of Pediatric Critical Care. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and a pharmacist at McMaster Children's Hospital. He completed his pharmacy degree at Memorial University in St John's, Newfoundland, residency training at Hamilton Health Sciences, and a MSc and PhD in Health Research Methodology at McMaster.

His primary clinical research focus in on the prevention of gastrointestinal bleeding and nosocomial infections in critically ill children. His primary methodological research focus is on the conduct, interpretation and use of randomized controlled trials in pediatric critical care. His work has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Hamilton Health Sciences New Investigator Fund and the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists Research Fund.

Mark is the principal investigator for PICUtrials.net (a database of published RCTs in pediatric critical care) and the PIC-UP Pilot Trial (a CIHR-funded multicentre pilot trial of stress ulcer prophylaxis in critically ill children).
